So this year's big news at Hand Drawn Creative is the release of our very first (and hopefully not our last) pop-up book. Very much a team effort, Willis Wonderland – The Legendary Home of Atomic Kitsch was written, designed and illustrated by Hillary Carlip, Trudi Roth, paper engineer Mike Malkovas and myself in 2024. This year it's beginning to get some great press with a BIG feature in the Los Angeles Times and Architectural Digest have requested a copy too! Here in Northern Ireland, I've been getting out the good word too, starting with a 'creative talk' between myself and Bangor's favourite keynote speaker Andi Jarvis. The story behind this book is too crazy not to tell, so I left the big orange shed to let everybody know about our favourite creative project to date. All photos are by David McDonald.
